Note: this product contains a transparent base coat. In liquid form the base coat is white, but it will dry out as transparent.
The paint kit consists of a transparent base coat and protective gloss/matte top coat. The paints are made from waterborne automotive paints, which are packed in brush cap bottles - ideal for touch-up repairs.
Primer/filler
Depending on the size and type of damage, you might need to use a primer/filler to achieve sufficient adhesion of the paint.
Order primer if any of the following conditions apply:
- The damaged area is larger than 1 sq cm / 0.15 sq inch
- The naked frame material is visible through the old paint
- You can feel surface unevenness around the damaged area
Thinner
Only if you are planning to spray paint your bicycle with an air brush or spray gun (not included) do you have to order thinner. A brush cap bottle is included with the product, helping to create invisible repairs.
